Archives for category: oily skin

Hello ladies,

I have realised how boring I’ve become – I only buy practical stuff that I need 😦

Have to do something about it. I just feel like in the winer time I have no desire to splurge.

Anyways, let’s get started with my recent beauty haul.

First item I got is this  hair mask. I have run out of my hair mask a couple of weeks ago, but decided to buy a new one only after I got a haircut on Monday. I have this little tradition, whenever I get a haircut, I always buy some new treatment for my hair after that. So since I have oils, conditioners, heat protection, bla bla bla other stuff from Lee Stafford (that I am obsessed with), I realised I didn’t have a hair mask, so I got this one. It was around $8, which is a great deal, because the bottle is huge.

Haven’t tried this yet, but I am pretty sure it’s good. I usually use hair mask only once a week, because if I do more, my hair tends to get even more oily. So what I do with hair masks, I wash my hair in the evening, apply the mask on my hair from ears and down to the ends, then I do a very high hair bun (without rinsing the mask), and go to bed. In the morning I rinse the mask, my hair looks very healthy and shiny after this little procedure.

I also got a new face mask. I run out of my Nivea one, so I wanted to try out something new. I found these in Watson’s and because they were very affordable, I decided to give them a shot.

I have tried all of them. They didn’t break me out, left my skin feeling fresh and matte. If you have combination to oily skin, definitely try them out.

And finally, I purchased this moisturiser, which is amazing and smells yummi

It really smells like chocolate and leaves my skin super soft. Also, I’ve noticed how great are all the Beauty Formulas products. You can never go wrong with them.

That’s it for my little beauty haul. Hope you guys enjoyed it.

P.S. HAPPY VALENTINE’S DAY TO ALL OF YOU! 🙂

Hi guys,

I have been pretty busy lately, so unfortunately didn’t have much time to blog or shop 😦

Today, however, I realized I bought a couple of things, I wanted to show you.

But first of all, look at this adorable sheep, that my friend Safie bought in Poland. We have this little tradition – whenever my friends or me travel, we always get each other cute souvenires 🙂 So thank you, Safie, this little buddy is lovely!

Okay, for my haul, which was pretty small, I got a new face toner. I was running out of my Nivea mattifying toner, so I wanted to get the new one. I went to Watson’s, but was pretty upset to hear they didn’t have it. Instead, they suggested trying new mattifying toner from a Finnish brand Lumene. It’s twicew more expensive than the Nivea one, but it does the job – keeps my skin matte and looking fresh. Also it doesn’t break me out!

It also makes my pores so much smaller. Very good toner, definitely try it out if you have oily skin.

Also I got some new brushes, which I am so excited about. Some of them are made of natural hair, some are synthetic, but they are all very good quality!!!

  • huge eyeshadow brush (I use it for contouring my face)
  • foundation brush
  • eyeshadow brush
  • sponge eyeshadow brush

Hey guys,

Remember I promised you, I’d do a review on my Prime Time Oil Control primer from BareMinerals? Finally, I am ready to do it. I’ve had it for at least 1 month now, I think.

Image

I would like to start with the packaging. Some people might think it’s boring, but for me, this kind of packaging ( simple and ‘serious’) is an indicator of a good product. I mean, we all love cute little boxes and bottles, but this is the case when you expect alot from a product, that looks very… mmm ‘professional’, I’d say.

Image

This is the first product from BareMinerals, I’ve owned, and I’ve been pretty excited about using it. I tried it with different fondations. It didn’t break me out, but it definitely didn’t make my oily skin look matte. It’s VERY moisturising!!!!! The bottle should have said ‘super moisturising for dry skin’ instead of ‘oil control’. And for around 20 GBP I am pretty upset with the product.

Honestly, my foundation looks more fresh without this primer.

If you have combination skin, it might work for you, but for those with oily skin (like mine), don’t waste your money. Instead, I suggest getting Urban Decay’s De Slick Setting Spray. I got their XL version of this product for $20 and I am happy with it. Works great with Maybelline 24H foundation and Rimmel’s Stay Matte foundation.

What is your favourite primer or foundation?

Hi everyone,

These last couple of days have been pretty crazy, and on top of that I feel really sick 😦

So yeah, in between sipping my disgusting lemony/honey drink (ewww) I’ve decided to tell you guys about my fun experience with an amazing online makeup store feelunique.com. It offers a big range of makeup, both drugstore and high-end. But the best part is that it has free international shipping with no minimum spend.  With my first order I didn’t want to go too crazy, so I purchased items I really needed (well pretty much:)

Image

I was running out of my favourite Rimmel Stay Matte foundation, so I repurchased that, and I also got this oil control primer for oily skin. The foundation I am really satisfied with, and it’s very affordable too. It’s not very buildable though, and the shades are a little bit too light, I think. But it definitely keeps me matte! Speaking about the primer, I haven’t tried it yet, but I promise I’ll do a review of this stuff, as soon as I get better and use it at least 5 times.

Overall, I am very happy with feelunique, the shipping was fast, the items came very well-packed. And yeah, I am definitely going to do my makeup shopping there again.

And for those who are wondering, I am constantly adding new stuff to the giveaway.

Right now it includes my favourite blush, 2 lipsticks (Rimmel’s Kate in 03 and Vivienne Sabo Charme de Vous in 112), mascara, eye shadow and a gorgeous bronzer. The rules are simple – you have to follow, comment and like my blog and follow my Instagram page.

Hey guys! I know I look like a ghost on this photo, but what can I do I just love Lush’s Ocean Salt scrub so much:) As you have already read  above, this post is going to be all about taking care of my skin and how I keep it matte, clear and blemish-free.

Instead of just taking photos of my favourite products, I’ve decided to make a polyvore set, hope you like it)

These are the products, that I use on a daily basis for at least a couple of months now, they don’t break me out and don’t cause any allergic reactions (otherwise they won’t be in this post, right?))

  1. My Garnier face wash for sensitive skin is a blessing. It says ‘dry and sensitive skin’, but it’s also perfect for my oily skin. It removes excess oil and dirt without making my skin too dry or itchy. I have tried so many face washes, but this is the best for any skin type. It even saved me from an ugly allergic reaction once. I have this thing with water, and whenever I travel my skin mostly hates local water. So the last time I went to St.Petersburg, my face turned red and had that awful type of pimples, when you have a lot and they are tiny. Ewww:( My skin reminded me of skin of a hippo. Honestly! But then I just went to a local drugstore, grabbed this Garnier stuff and voilà, after just two washes my skin looked decent again! 🙂
  2. This Nivea mattifying toner is great for someone with oily skin. Plus, this seems to be the only toner, that doesn’t break me out  or cause allergic reactions (unfortunatelly that happens to me pretty often with new products). I still remember buying Olay toner and being all spotty for a while after using it. I just think that if you have sensitive skin, like myself, don’t switch to different brands too often. What I mean is, I know that Nivea is good for my skin, and I stick to it. I usually use this toner instead of moisturiser before I put my makeup on btw
  3. This is actually the only L’oreal non-makeup product I own (have no idea why). The little flat brush, that comes with it, cleans my pores so well. It’s a great product to use after you’ve been wearing lots makeup for the whole day. Also, a little comes a long way!
  4. Pupa is one of my favourite European makeup brands and I was so excited to get this cute little eye makeup remover and a mascara as a gift for my birthday. At first, i thought it wouldn’t work for me because my eyes are increadible sensitive. So sensitive that I can’t apply eye pencil on my waterline, even taking photos makes my eyes ache sometimes. But, unexpectadly, this oily remover turned out to be amazing for my eyes. Love it!
  5. I love Beauty Formulas. I’ve tried so many of their stuff, and 85% of them were great. But these nose strips are not only great, they are perfect! The packaging says ‘removes blackheads and dirt instantly’ and it does. Amazing product for a very reasonable price. Totally recommend.
  6. I got this Boots Rapid action spot gel a year ago in Bangkok, and i still have it! All because a liitle goes a long way. It reduces blemishes, redness. I usually apply it on pimples before I go to sleep.
  7. Rival de Loop is a German brand, which is not very well-known outside of Germany, and I got no idea why. They have good and very affordable products. This one is a roll-on eye gel and I love applying it before I do my makeup. Again if it works for my eyes, I think it’s hyppoallergenic.
  8. Another product, that says ‘for dry skin’, but works perfectly for my oily skin, I wouldn’t put it under my makeup though) Very good night cream. I love using it after L’oreal mattifying treatment (3)
  9. You can never go wrong with Anatomicals! Throughout the last couple of years I’ve had so many products from this UK brand with quirky packaging. I must say, I have never been disappointed. Great quality, packaging, smell and price.  This eye cream is perfect for delicate skin.
  10. Read 9:) When I saw this moisturiser at Asos, I knew I had to have it. Perfect for those days, when you are not wearing makeup.
  11. Synergen has come up with a lovely roll-on spot treatment. One of my favourites, basically does the same thing, as number 6)
  12. I use Nivea All-in-1 skin treatment as a mask mostly, although you can use it as a scrub or a cleanser. It has very nice ‘clean’ smell and antibacterial effect. I’ve been using this mask for a while now, and I can recommend it for people with oily/blemish-prone skin.
  13. I don’t have many Lush products, but this Ocean Salt scrub ‘screams’ natural, good for your skin and soothing. It’s probably not the best scrub for someone with dry skin, but it works amazingly for my oily/sensitive skin. After applying this scrub I usulally keep it on my skin for 15-20 minutes, then rinse and apply product number 8.

As always I forgot something very important, the best lip treatment EVER from Neutrogena:

If you are wondering how often I use all of these products, I can say that my golden rule is ‘ALWAYS use an eye cream or gel’. You should start doing that when you are 16. There are plenty lightweight eye gels for young skin. It’ll allow you to stay young as long as possible.  I usually use my L’oreal treatment on Mondays, nose strips and Nivea mask on Wednesdays and my Lush scrub on Fridays. I ALWAYS remove my makeup before going to sleep and apply my Vitamin E cream, in the mornings I use Anatomicals stuff if I don’t intend to wear makeup, or if I do, I’d use my Nivea mattifying toner and eye gel.

Hugs& have a great skin 😉
