Since I had a couple of hours to spend in duty free zone in Dubai, I decided to buy a couple of new makeup items.
First, I needed a good undereye concealer. So I popped into Mac.

Select Moisturecover concealer is wonderful – it hides dark circles, moisturises skin and looks natural. Mine is in the shade NW25.

Next, I picked a new blush. It is Mac’s mineralize blush in Warm Soul, which is a beautiful peachy gold color with some subtle shimmer. It can also be used as eyeshadow.

And finally, I got a new brown eyeshadow from Benefit. Very pretty dark chocolate color with shimmer. The shade is called ‘kiss me, i’m tipsy’

Mascara I Am Loving At The Moment

Sephora does so many good makeup products and this lash plumper ultra black mascara is one of them. The brush is very big and adds lots of volume. It’s also lengthening and does not make my lashes look clumpy. This mascara is probably my second fav after Vivienne Sabo Cabaret one.
Definitely try out this one by Sephora if you are looking for a good quality mascara.

Let me start by saying that this palette is such a luxurious makeup item. For $85 you get a beautiful palette that looks like a black wallet when it is closed. But when you open it, it reveals a big mirror, a miniature version of Diorshow mascara, six gorgeous eye shadows, two lip plumpers, two lipglosses, face powder and two little brushes. For this kind of price you obviously get luxe products, that are great quality.

This palette makes a perfect present. I personally received it as a Birthday gift from a friend.

The eye shadows in this makeup palette are shimmery. There is a beautiful pearly highlighting color, two brown shades on the left, and on the right you get perfect colors for Fall – pink, taupe color and a gorgeous bugundy.

The lip plumpers are lovely too. They are like lip balms and after you’ve applied them you get cold and tingly sensation on your lips.

The lipstick are very flattering colors – very natural, so they will most likely suit every skin shade.

Powder is great too, however for someone with oily skin like myself, nothing works better than Rimmel’ s Stay Matte powder.

And, finally, the mascara. This miniature Diorshow has a tiny wand, hence it’s perfect for your lower lashes. Also it’s great for trips if you don’t like to carry a full-sized mascara.

Overall, it’s a beautiful high-end product that will make any girl happy. It’s perfect for someone who already has a ton of makeup so this palette would be a luxurious addition to the collection.

I know, I have mentioned this palette already in my Summer favourites post, but I thought since I like it so much, I should tell you guys more about it.

Mine is in shade ‘taupemodel 06’, it has 4 shimmery colours and the dark brown is matte. I like that it’s really small and so versatile – you can create so many looks with it, from nudes to dark smokeys. Plus the matte eyeshadow can be used as brow tint if you have darker brows. You can also apply it instead of your eyeliner. A very good ‘basic’ palette. You can buy it in Sephora for $24.

The eyeshadows are great quality and I know this palette will last me good couple of years, so I definitely think it’s worth the money.

I wanted to do an August favourites first, but then I realized I used pretty much the same stuff during Summer. So these are the products I enjoyed using for a while now and that I plan to continue using.

These are my basics and products I can survive on 🙂

First – the best BB cream for oily/combination  skin – Garnier’s Miracle Skin Perfector.  I got this in ‘Light’ and ‘Medium’ (they have only 2 shades), but now since I have tan I use the darker one. It’s great! Blends well, looks well and feels really light on my skin. It is also very buildable – sometimes I just put a tiny bit, but sometimes if I go out and want some more coverage, I use more of this BB cream and it definitely works well, better than most highend foundations I tried! So yeah, definitely thumbs up for another lovely Garnier product. And if you have sensitive, dry or normal skin, they have these BB creams for different skin types – just check your local drugstore.

Second – my Vivienne Sabo mascara, another basic product for me. It makes my lashes look thick and long, and has a more natural finish. If you want a dramatic look, just add more coats.

Third – my favourite Summer lip products, I’ve been using non-stop lately. Mac’s ‘Creme Cup’ and Rimmel’s nude in ’03’ look fabulous on tan skin. Plus these lipsticks are great quality. As for the lipgloss from Sephora – ’42 Precious Pink Jewels’, it’s gorgeous. I don’t know what else to say about it, because I have mentioned it in so many posts, but it’s really lovely. Great brush, delicious smell, lightweight non-sticky formula, vibrant colors and it definitely keeps my lipstick on so much longer. Best lipgloss ever!

And, finally, my last beauty favourite – my little eyeshadow palette from Sephora. I love the packaging, because it’s really small and fits in every makeup bag. The eyeshadows are great quality. Especially I love the highlighting shade, which looks gorgeous in iner corner of the eye.

For my music favourites, I’ve discovered a new band, I have never heard of before. Architecture in Helsinki is an amazing indie pop band from Australia (yeap, I thought they were from Finland too at first :).

These are my favourite songs right now

And finally, my favourite Summer 2013 movie is

it’s hilarious, another great comedy. Definitely watch it, if you haven’t yet!

What I Use For My Brows/ REVIEW: Cosmopolitan Eyebrow Styling Kit

I got this little Cosmopolitan brow palette from feelunique.com a while ago. I really had love-hate relationship with it. First I didn’t like it – the stencils didn’t work for my brow shape/face, I hated the quality of the brush – soooooooo cheap looking. Also the eyeshadows looked too shimmery and not pigmented at all. However, after a while I decided to give it another try. I must say it’s okay if you use a better brush. What I like, when you do your brows the shimmer disappears and everything looks matte. I usually use the darker color for the ‘inner’ parts of my brows, and then for the ‘brow tail’ I apply a nice matte chocolate brown from my Sephora palette.
To sum it up, it’s an okay brow palette for around $10, but you’ll need to buy a proper brush. Also if you have darker hair/brows, this stuff is not for you – the colors are not too pigmented. But if you are blond, this palette will probably match your eyebrow shade.

REVIEW: Exaggerate Undercover Shadow Primer by Rimmel

I just thought I’d do a quick review on this eye primer. I found it on Asos on sale for $7 or something, which is a very good deal for a primer. I don’t normally use primers because my lids are not too oily, so eyeshadow usually stays pretty well on me. However, I am a massive Rimmel fan, so I was super excited to try out this product. I must say, I was disappointed by it – it doesn’t do what it says on the bottle. It doesn’t make eyeshadow appear more pigmented, but it makes it crease! So if you want a good eyeshadow primer, better get the one from Urban Decay, I know it’s on the pricey side, but at least it works.
Or you can just get Color Tattoo eyeshadows from Maybelline. They are creamy, so they look fine on their own, but they also work great as a primer.
Hope this helped
