I have been a fan of the original version of Rimmel Kate lipstick for more than a year now. It is not the most moistuisng lip product, but the pigmentation is great and I love how long lasting it is. Especially if you put a lip gloss on top, you don’t need to reapply it for a couple of hours. Plus, it is a drugstore product, so it is very affordable. I also think that Rimmel lipsticks are similar quality as Mac, but they are twice cheaper.
But going back to the Matte version of Kate lippie, they are pretty much the same quality as the original ones. I recently got colors 113 (beige) and 107 (rich burgundy). The burgundy is absolutely beautiful for Fall and I adore the pigmentation of this product. If you are looking for a perfect burgundy, definitely try this one because it looks amazing on different skin tones.

Is it me or Lily Collins absolutely nailed it? 🙂 I mean this masterpiece by designer Zuhair Murad looks absolutely stunning on her. This dress screams gorgeous! I love the color, lace detailing, stripey skirt – it’s just perfect.

Also the back of the dress looks amazing. I think Lily’s team of stylists works really well, as the jewellery choice is very subtle, yet chic. The hair looks heavenly too. Lily’s low bun is super simple but elegant – just what this dress needs.

And finally makeup. Lily rocks super pale skin, which definitely complements and accentuates her beautiful thick brows. We can see a little cateye going on and natural peachy tone on Lily’s chicks and lips. No contouring, no heavy highlighting and stuff like that. Also, Lily’s middle parting definitely draws attention to her beautiful features, great skin and stunning brows. Absolutely love this look!

What do you guys think?

I wanted to do an August favourites first, but then I realized I used pretty much the same stuff during Summer. So these are the products I enjoyed using for a while now and that I plan to continue using.

These are my basics and products I can survive on 🙂

First – the best BB cream for oily/combination  skin – Garnier’s Miracle Skin Perfector.  I got this in ‘Light’ and ‘Medium’ (they have only 2 shades), but now since I have tan I use the darker one. It’s great! Blends well, looks well and feels really light on my skin. It is also very buildable – sometimes I just put a tiny bit, but sometimes if I go out and want some more coverage, I use more of this BB cream and it definitely works well, better than most highend foundations I tried! So yeah, definitely thumbs up for another lovely Garnier product. And if you have sensitive, dry or normal skin, they have these BB creams for different skin types – just check your local drugstore.

Second – my Vivienne Sabo mascara, another basic product for me. It makes my lashes look thick and long, and has a more natural finish. If you want a dramatic look, just add more coats.

Third – my favourite Summer lip products, I’ve been using non-stop lately. Mac’s ‘Creme Cup’ and Rimmel’s nude in ’03’ look fabulous on tan skin. Plus these lipsticks are great quality. As for the lipgloss from Sephora – ’42 Precious Pink Jewels’, it’s gorgeous. I don’t know what else to say about it, because I have mentioned it in so many posts, but it’s really lovely. Great brush, delicious smell, lightweight non-sticky formula, vibrant colors and it definitely keeps my lipstick on so much longer. Best lipgloss ever!

And, finally, my last beauty favourite – my little eyeshadow palette from Sephora. I love the packaging, because it’s really small and fits in every makeup bag. The eyeshadows are great quality. Especially I love the highlighting shade, which looks gorgeous in iner corner of the eye.

For my music favourites, I’ve discovered a new band, I have never heard of before. Architecture in Helsinki is an amazing indie pop band from Australia (yeap, I thought they were from Finland too at first :).

These are my favourite songs right now

And finally, my favourite Summer 2013 movie is

it’s hilarious, another great comedy. Definitely watch it, if you haven’t yet!

I have recently received these L’oreal products as a gift, so after using them for a while, I thought it would be great to do a review.

Starting from L’oreal Glam Shine 6h lip gloss, I must say I was very prejudiced against it. I tried it in different shades and I absolutely hated it – it smelled cheap, was VERY sticky (even stickier than Victoria’s Secret lip glosses!) and it dried up my lips like crazy. After that awful experience, I would never ever go buy them again. However, when I received one as a present, I forced myself to give it another try.

Mine is in the shade 102 ‘Always Pink’ and it’s a pretty dark pink with very subtle shimmer to it. The color is very sheer and matches my natural lip color almost perfectly. It looks very flattering on almost anyone because it looks so neutral. After applying it, I realized it wasn’t that bad at all. I have found out that with L’oreal 6H lip glosses, some shades just have crappy quality and sticky texture to them, but this one turned out absolutely lovely. As I have already mentioned, it looks very natural and pretty on it’s own, but I love using a nice moisturising lipstick underneath (so that it won’t dry up my lips). Definitely going to purchase a couple of more shades of these.

Next – my new concealer True Match by L’oreal. I have been loving my Garnier roller under my eyes and my Maybelline concealer to cover up rednesses/pimples for a while, until I got this little devil. It’s quite thick, so I won’t recomment using it under your eyes, but to cover up other imperfections, it’s perfect. Great drugstore product, that is easy to apply and blend, it also stays on very well. But what I like best, is the shade – it’s just perfect and it really adapts to my skin tone. If you are tan like me or slightly lighter, definitely try the shade 3 ‘Cream’.

And finally, the new eyliner I got from one of my favourite makeup brands – Vivienne Sabo. I can’t say I am too pleased with it – it’s okay, nothing special. The tip seems really great, but it actually took me a while to make a perfect cat-eye. It’s an okay drugstore eyeliner for just $6.

What I Use For My Brows/ REVIEW: Cosmopolitan Eyebrow Styling Kit

I got this little Cosmopolitan brow palette from feelunique.com a while ago. I really had love-hate relationship with it. First I didn’t like it – the stencils didn’t work for my brow shape/face, I hated the quality of the brush – soooooooo cheap looking. Also the eyeshadows looked too shimmery and not pigmented at all. However, after a while I decided to give it another try. I must say it’s okay if you use a better brush. What I like, when you do your brows the shimmer disappears and everything looks matte. I usually use the darker color for the ‘inner’ parts of my brows, and then for the ‘brow tail’ I apply a nice matte chocolate brown from my Sephora palette.
To sum it up, it’s an okay brow palette for around $10, but you’ll need to buy a proper brush. Also if you have darker hair/brows, this stuff is not for you – the colors are not too pigmented. But if you are blond, this palette will probably match your eyebrow shade.

REVIEW: Exaggerate Undercover Shadow Primer by Rimmel

I just thought I’d do a quick review on this eye primer. I found it on Asos on sale for $7 or something, which is a very good deal for a primer. I don’t normally use primers because my lids are not too oily, so eyeshadow usually stays pretty well on me. However, I am a massive Rimmel fan, so I was super excited to try out this product. I must say, I was disappointed by it – it doesn’t do what it says on the bottle. It doesn’t make eyeshadow appear more pigmented, but it makes it crease! So if you want a good eyeshadow primer, better get the one from Urban Decay, I know it’s on the pricey side, but at least it works.
Or you can just get Color Tattoo eyeshadows from Maybelline. They are creamy, so they look fine on their own, but they also work great as a primer.
Hope this helped

Favourite Mascaras

It’s been a week since my Grandpa passed away, so I’m trying to go back to my normal life and working makes it slightly easier. I was looking through my makeup bag today and thought, I never payed enough attention to my favourite mascaras. I’ve been using these two for a while now. I find they are perfect for anyone! The first one – Cabaret mascara by Vivienne Sabo has a smaller brush, gives a more natural look. The second one – by L’oreal is definitely for those who aim for a more dramatic look. But they are both fabulous!!! I usually do one coat of Cabaret on my upper lashes and then, after it dries a bit, apply two coats of L’oreal. And for my lower lashes I put two coats of Cabaret.
So if you are looking for a great drugstore mascara, I do recommend trying these babes!
